Anyone here with much experience submitting the Zincolns? How tough are the graders on plating bubbles. I've got an entire original roll of 1988-D's and every single coin is severely pimpled. The thing is though that many of these coins don't have a single contact mark anywhere, zero spots and they have good strikes for the series.

I'm talking about the zinc plated Lincolns which I not so affectionately refer to as zincolns.

It would be one thing if all '88-D had pimples, but that's not the case. The one's without are the one's that set the benchmark.
Pimples will have an impact on eye appeal.

    My two zincoln's

I not heard them called that before. Oh well, Live & Learn.

Just curious and no intention of derailing your thread but have you checked your roll for any rev-006?

Hah. Zincolns. I like that. I have a bunch in bank wrappers that my kids will appreciate one day.

Yeah, I'm a variety collector, so varieties are my primary focus, but I do always keep an eye out for some of the money grades.

I have submitted many and they are very hard on them. It is too bad as many with the "bubbles" have great eye appeal IMO.

I have seen lots of Zincs in my change, only one with the cool bubbles. I kept it.

Kind of what I figured. The only benchmark I have is an 85-D PCGS slabbed at 67. It has similar bubbles and if it weren't for the bubbles I think it would be a 68 all day long. Then again, I have one slabbed PR-69 by PCGS that has plate-splitting along the outer letters so go figure.
