I know this is quite worn and circulated, but the purple tone is on the coin and I think I've captured it on the image. Is it likely original or is it indicative of recoloring?

I believe whatever the coin was cleaned with is what caused the coloring on this piece.

    Doesn't look natural.

Well circulated coins rarely achieve toning like this naturally. Corrosion/porosity makes it even less likely.

If I had to guess, somebody dipped it in MS70 or a similar cleaning agent.

I agree, I've never seen a well worn specimen like this with toning. I don't know what caused it to be like this, but I think it's AT. Having said that, I like the coin.
