They will, cause there is no way they will be able to unload that much in silver without rising suspition...I'm sure every online outlet and every major dealer will have this BOLO, and I guarantee you these moron meth heads will not show any constraint selling them...
I hope and prey to God they get 50 years to life!!!

You've got to think someone had seen somthing. It must have took a little time to load that stuff up in a car or truck. I doubt they ran off with that hord...

At $30 an ounce, you're aware that he had 25,000 of silver in his home?
That would be 25 Monster green boxes or 7,500 100oz bars which to me, seems just a tad irresponsible.

I mean I feel sorry for the guy but he just didn't think this one through. Yes, silver has gone up quite a bit but thats still a tremendous amount of silver to be in one's home.

The perps were in a Toyota Camry or the like...
You'd be hard pressed to carry 2 grown men and 1500# of anything in that.

I don't think his home owners policy is going to cover that loss. Crazy people with to much money .

Those weren't meth heads. Too well planned. Meth heads don't get police uniforms and use a ruse to gain entrance.

I so wish we could cut peoples hands off for stealing. I hope they at least find the guys silver, catching the losers that stole it would just be a bonus.

Your math is a little bit off. At $30/oz, there would be 250 - 100oz bars.

I have an older camry, and I would love to see one that could handle 1500 lbs "luggage" as they drove away. I moved a 1000 lb safe using my Tacoma with OffRoad shocks and the nose was really pointing up, can't imagine the get away. Wasn't there heavy snow also? Wow!

Could that kind of quantity (25 green monster boxes) or the weight you mentioned, be able to fit in a safe 1 meter X 1 meter, basically 3'X3'? I don't think so. 3' deep, 3' wide, it would have to be about/at least 10 feet high, no?

I also question why someone with $414,000 would buy that kind of quantity of silver, when there are so many other avenues of investment that could be utilized with that large a sum. I mean, I can see a couple grand max as an investment, but almost just short of half a million?????? Palladium would have also been a better play than silver.

    A Simple Arithmatic Problem

From your comments, I believe you would be astonished with the amount of U.S.Dollars worth of Silver a 3 foot cube would contain. This isn't a complex mathematical problem, let's see HOW MANY WILL VENTURE A CORRECT ANSWER. The simple assumption parameters are that the 3 foot cube is a block of solid pure Silver, using the current Silver bid value of $32.66/ounce. :thumb:

The poor guy just made too many mistakes in purchasing and storing this amount of PM, namely silver. It is beyond my comprehension that he would beleive he could keep it safe. The extreme volume and weight of this amount of silver is at least very prohibitive. This could only end in the disastrous way it did. I find it incredibly hard to beleive this story doesn't have
some hidden facts that we do not know. He should have hired a live in bodyguard.

That is absolutely horrible. I do however fail to see the justification in knocking the guy for making an investment that nearly doubled in twelve months. Different strokes for different folks is how I see it.

I also don't think it was meth heads. They would have stabbed the guy and stolen his toaster not something valuable.

Too bad he couldn;t have added some lead to go with that ?

Not long ago Police here tracked some stolen tools because the owner attached a $3.50 GPS chip to one of them. Might not be a bad idea for a coin tube or bar?

What makes you think that's too much money? Any self reliant 52 year old should have at least that much saved for retirement...so they can take care of themselves and not be a burden on society.
