I recently found a second 1997 dd ear Lincoln coin. How common is this coin? I found both in circulated coin rolls. The 1st in about Sept 2010 & the 2nd in Dec 2010 It's curious how common (or not) they are because how quickly between the two I found them. Aren't they rare please correct me if I'm wrong. Or how common are they? US Coins Guide Book does not say much about it other than mintage/MS/PF info. And US Coin Digest has limited info too as to how many went into circulation. Guess it's just I'm surprised how quickly i got a hit one after the other so quickly. Your help would be great. Thank you.
Let' see some pictures to verify, if it's anthing like the one found in Coppercoins ( 1997P-1DO-001) it could be worth $60 in MS65 (realistically whatever someone is willing to pay for it)
These are the pics. As I noted previously, they are circulated coins. Hope you can see them well. I'm still trying to get better at the camera/pics/lighting etc. but click on the pics for larger pic.
those look good, I would double check since you have the coin in hand by going here: http://www.coppercoins.com/diesearch.php you will have type in 1997 to 1997 type: philadelphia then double Die Obverse Whatever you do, DO NOT clean them!!
Thank you, and yes fantastic I will go into this site right now. I most certainly will not clean them. Thank you much.
