Could someone please tell me what a WAM and a CAM are? Thank you, Herm

It refers to the reverse side of a lincoln cent. In the word America across the top of the coin, a WAM would be that the letters A and M in America have a wider gap than they should. The opposite is true in a Close AM or CAM. I'm not familiar with all the years but I do know that in 1998, 1999 and 2000 the A and M should be close together, almost touching, so you're looking for a WAM variety. In 1992, the A and M should be farther apart, so you're looking for the close variety.

I know this has come up before but I'll ask again. What is everyone doing with their NIFCs and/or 1987 coins. Like most of you, I now have piles of NIFC coins in various condition and quite a few 1987s now. I'm contemplating just tossing them back in the dump.

A similar thing happened to me dumping dimes at a TD Bank about 2 months ago. When I got my receipt I noticed the amount was short and saw that it had counted over 300 cents. I go to the teller and explain what happened and was told "well, sometimes other people's money get stuck in there (which is true and I often reap the benefit of it, especially when the reject tube gets clogged or covered by a coin bag)." I had another teller come over and open up the machine and wouldn't ya know there were my dimes mixed in the cent bag. I had to wait 2 weeks for the bags to go back to the sorting facility for them to be counted and have my account credited. This has REALLY turned me off on searching dimes.

I have been separating them in plastic tubes. I think once I have a roll from each year I'll probably recirculate them.

4 boxes of halves: skunked. I feel like something's different. Perhaps the sorting companies have decided silver is valuable enough to reject. Any thoughts on this?

When people ask for bags from the bank machines, are you asking if they reject silver? I got a bag and later came to find out that their machine rejects silver.

Sometimes, in order to get rolls to search, I trade rolls. They need coins for daily transactions, so I ask if they can trade me rolls of coins. That way I can dump, get some to search at the same time. Never had anyone refuse to do that. And after the first time, I try to take a Wheatie in a flip for the teller. Generally a 1943 Steel Cent. I have several rolls of those that are well circulated, but no one sees them today.

As you get into this, you learn a technique that will work for you. Just keep in mind that you don't want to create an inconvenience. Sometimes, when I offer to swap coins with a teller, they will sell me extra rolls. I recently traded several rolls of quarters, dimes and cents and the teller had 2 rolls of dollar coins she sold me to boot.

Whoa, where are you getting boxes like that?

Northern Virginia. I have been getting about 10 silvers per box for the last 7 boxes. I can see on this thread that the silver seems to be running out in places, so hopefully I'm in a place where no one has been.

I'm sticking with the claim that CRHing is more popular in the northeast and since the density of people is high, the silver is low.

Silver findings are crap all over the place right now though, if you check out a site like TNet, which is probably the half dollar hunting capital of the internet. I don't post there, but I lurk, and yeah...

BTW, checked that double reverse just now under a 12x loop.. no signs of plating or joining two coins together..

Bob, thank you for the invitation to the PCC. I will show up to the Golden Corral at the next meeting.. When is it? I'd love to talk to you and Erin.

    Thanks//

If this is a true Double reverse, does anyone have any price tags??
