I picked up 6 rolls of Canadian quarters today - out of 240 quarters:

    4-1973 RCMP (small bust :( )
    4-1992 Province and Territory
    16-1999 Millenium
93-2000 Millenium (including 3 complete sets!)
    11-2002P Canada Day
    2-2004P First Settlement
    1-2004P Poppy
    3-2005P Alberta
    10-2005P Saskatchewan
    1-2005P Veterans
    4-2006P Ribbon
    4-2006P Bravery
    32-Olympic

I couldn't believe it - coin after coin was something of interest!

I'm just so surprised that this thread has 10054 replies, now 10055.

    Anyway, saw a 1960 dime, a 1959 quarter, and a 1964 half

    3 90%
    71 Proof
    84 Proof
    1 2010 D

Makes up for the ten boxes I picked up last week. All told out of the ten I got 2 40%ers

Friends at work know that I'm a collector, so they brought me the strange dime that one of them got in change on Thursday when he bought a cup of coffee at the gas station next door. They looked it up in the coin books, but couldn't find it in the dimes. What was it? It had three pillars on the back. Funny looking dime.

Yep. 1875 Nickel three cent piece, in XF. No, he wouldn't sell it to me.

Some guys have all the luck.

Should have said I'll give you 10 cents for it before you told him anything else!

How could the number of replies surprise you ? It's not like us roll searchers have real lives or anything.

It's fun finding the old currency except I don't know a thing about it!

I had a teller offer me two $100 dollar bills from the 1930's once. I probably should have took them but, I had no idea the worth. She wasn't selling them for face either, that's why I didn't purchase them.

If this was a Bank Teller, I would be inclined to report this. Certainly if the offer to sell them happened in the bank. It seems unethical and may even be in violation of the law ?
