Both the Red Book of US Coins Coin Values(supplement to Coin World Magazine) and the PCGS Website say that the coin is worth $850 in that grade. Nice coin for the grade, worth keeping for awhile.
both of those sources routinely overvalue coins by vast amounts. You must disregard them. The teletrade price was as accurate as you can get unless there has been a similar one more recently sold on Heritage or even eBay.

Thanks i got it for $525 yesterday at a coin show. I saw others selling them same grade and graded from the same company for $850. The worst thing is that the 2 dealers were next to each other.
Did you get authenticity with it?? The Breen book recommends it. Thats the only one I dont have, I've never come across one.

HMMMM. That is good to know. I shy away from ebay maybe to much. I go to coin shows about 2 times a month around here and those are going for about $800 and up at the shows.
Depends on the coin IMO....often coins that don't come up much are undervalued by even PCGS price guide (from what I've seen on heritage and teletrade). It's really hit or miss, but for common date or common key dates I agree that they're generally overpriced.
I would say that a VF-35 should retail at least for $750, so you must have paid well back of Grey Sheet Buy prices! I would say that you did very well unless there is a problem with the coin! Post some pictures of the coin to get a consensus of opinions of pros and cons on the coin. It could be just a case where the Dealer had had the coin in inventory for a very long time and decided to severely discount it so that it would sell! Frank
CDN Greysheet bid is $515.00 and no they shouldn't sell for 700 to 800 dollars unless it is a primo XF45 with tons of eye appeal.. Dealers selling at 200 dollars over ask is ridicoulus. They are really not wanting to sell the coin until a person willing to overpay for it comes along.
