Check out this self slabber: morgan_mania from Australia. Not only is he slabbing his own coins, he's warning other buyers not to trust any other morgan seller except him. What a joke. Check it out. He's calling himself UCGS, Universal Coin Grading Service. He should be added to the junk TPG list as well. Although there is another company of the same name, this guy is using the same name, in a different holder. He is also selling coins from American Morgan Graders who have already been reported here.

What's really funny is that he is claiming the coins are graded in the USA, although none of these coins are for sale in the US, and the company has no website, so it is obviously a bogus self slabber looking to screw buyers over.

Check out his rediculous ads, he should be reported to Ebay.

    http://cgi.ebay.com/1881-S-MORGAN-SILVER-DOLLAR-SLABBED-MS68-VALUE-US-4-440_W0QQitemZ300524265299QQcategoryZ39482QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp5197.m7QQ_trkparmsZalgo%3DLVI%26itu%3DUCI%26otn%3D2%26po%3DLVI%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D6999215175753465080

His ad violates just about every ebay policy, selling practise policy, and rule they have for listing coins. He's offering to ship the coin to the US so the ad definitely violates Ebay's US coin and currency policy for non-ebay approved grading services.

How come the ads are getting away with that? Has anyone reported this seller? If not they should.

I've reported many of his listings, but I do not think Ebay takes any action until they hear from numerous complaints. His ads violate nearly every eBay selling practise and listing policy!

I'd appreciate if someone else would report a few of the listings from this guy:

Sorry, but it won't do any good. He is in Australia. He violates all kinds of regs here, but nothing in Australia.

The only place those rules apply is the USA. Not even Canada. The one that really got me was a seller somewhere in Mass., USA listing his coins on eBay.au (Australia). He apparently had to take Australian dollars, but they would not tough his listings.

I guess so, if he is doing that.

If the seller is offering shipping to the US, and the item appears on the US ebay site, the ad MUST comply with all the policies on the site on which the ad appears, not
just the site it was originally listed on. This guy IS offering to ship to the US, so his ad violates the US raw and couterfeit coin listing policy for NON approved grading services.

Not only that the guy is using the power seller logo and warning buyers not to trust any other Morgan sellers IN HIS AD, that is definitely a violation of Ebay listing
practise policy. Aren't there any eBay people watching the forums for bad sellers like this guy?

From what I understand eBay usually takes action on a seller if multiple people report the ads too. I've done my part, maybe someone else can step up to the plate
and help buyers from getting screwed from bad apples like this morgan_mania. Cheers!

Hey... he coulda fooled me (lifted directly from his auction description)!

"DONT BE FOOLED BY OTHER MORGAN DOLLAR SELLERS ON EBAY CLAIMINING THEY ARE SELLING GENUINE GRADED COINS, MOSTLY SELF SLABBERS COMING OUT OF NOWHERE AND DAMAGING THE MARKET"

"he ad MUST comply with all the policies on the site on which the ad appears" - DEAD wrong. We cannot make laws for them any more then they can make laws for us. Been down this road too many times.:dead-horse:

"From what I understand eBay usually takes action on a seller if multiple people report the ads too." Again wrong. They take action against violates of their regs and other laws whether there is a single report or 1000. I am the lone reporter of 100,000+ listings that have been removed. If you think you know better, go beat you head on the wall:headbang: and have fun.

EBAY , has done away with the " Power Seller " program , so even that no longer is applicable.

    That is interesting. Maybe you ought to tell eBay. Here is a copy of one of my selling pages;
BTW, just why is it so difficult for people to understand why we cannot make laws or regulations for the rest of the world? Vice versa, since we export cars to Timbuktu, all of the cars we make should meet their regs! Really? It is not a one way street. It runs both ways.

I checked with eBay by phone, and they did indeed state that if a buyer's ad shows up on any of eBay's sites, regardless of where
the item is originally listed, it must comply with all the same rules and policies of the site the item appears. If you list a coin in the UK,
and offer shipping to the USA, that ad will appear on the US Ebay site. It must then abide by the same coin policy as those coins listed
directly on the US site. Ebay confirmed this, but also said it definitely helps when more than just 1 person reports the ad, it raises more
attention and action may be taken sooner, but no guarantees. Who knows, I can only repeat what I was told. And the powerseller logo is property of eBay
and may NOT be used, copied, or placed within the ad description on ANY eBay site. Regardless of whether the program is active or not.
All I'm asking is for someone other than me to report
some of these listings. Isn't that what this forum is for?

And I saw that "Buyers Beware" warning in the guys ad, that violates eBay selling practises, so the ad should be taken down, if none other
than for that. You cannot mention anything but a description of the item you are selling, period.

rlm... correct me if I'm wrong... ebay still has the power seller program; however they no longer display the power seller logo next to the seller's ID (replaced by the "top seller" logo if applicable); it's a violation to display either logo within your auction description.

Ah, but perhaps he can be banned from doing business in the USA. I doubt he has a great number of buyers in Australia or the rest of the world. And if the Aussies feel cheated, someone just might pay the bloke a personal visit ? Every Aussie I ever met could deal with things without calling a Copper.

As seen in my earlier post, I am not a power seller (today, anyway), so I do not know all their rules.

So they are slabbed and graded in the USA, then shipped back to Austraila, then air mailed back to the USA?
That right there ought to tell you how dumb he is.

I find it most disgusting how he grades the coin MS 68 and tries to get you to believe your getting a deal by mentioning the "retail" price.
