Finally found a bank with a quantity of halves - $140 and they were all 1995-P! Crap!

If they were original rolls, you probably could have sold them for a premium without opening them.

    $100 in quarters; skunk
    $150 in dimes; skunk.

Did I bleed ALL of the silver out around here? Jeeze.

Can't see how that's possible since you are so close to a major city (right?).

Yeah, I know, but my finds have dropped off a cliff over the past month or so.

    Did a box and found 4 40%ers.

Erin and I sold 18 rolls of 40%ers today (10 from me and 8 from him) for $86 a roll (craigslist). I'm EXTREMELY pleased at the price we got.

Did another $100 from the box at the bank and found nothing but 3 nice looking halves. 1 1989 D looks maybe like it was from a mint set, almost no wear, a 2001, and a 2003. No silver this time.

I have tried going through boxes of halves with very poor results. MAYBE one 40% per $100.00. But my main thing is sorting through rolls of pennies. I probably average about 1/3 copper with a wheat every three or so rolls. I have found several Indian heads as well! The oldest being 1867 I believe. You never know what you will find though- it's fun!

Wow, an 1867, that's crazy... I've found one in ~$1000 searched... also, 5 40%'ers per box of halves is really solid, my average is well under that.

2 boxes of nickels: about 1 roll of Pre-60, 1 no date buff, 1 43-P war nickel, and my first 38-d roll searching. (I bought a 38-d a few weeks ago to complete my album......of course I find it after I bought one.) Oh well, now I have 2.

Considering I got $75 last week, I'd say $86 is a great price.

Of course it jumps after I sell, ugh.

Another box of cents down, 5 Canadians, no BU RD 60's though.

Well, I finally finished my two day roadtrip. I spent $3700.00 in bags, boxes, and loose halves. Here are the results:

    (13)90% Halves(2-Frankies)
    (50)40% Halves
    (1)Silver dime(In the halves bag)
    (1)1822 1 Cent(in a half bag)

I spent about $35.00 in gas, so the net profit will be around $330-$350

I finally got ahold of the 4 boxes I mentioned earlier ... The bank changed suppliers... And took longer because of this... I've done one box and got skunked... Hopefully the others prove to be better...

Wow, a large cent from 1822? How cool, and congrats on all of your finds.....it seems you have hit an area not searched for a while and have found more than most in a short time.....Keep going!!!

I had a good day today.

    1 box: Skunk
    $437 in loose, CWR, and a few BWR: 30 40%ers and 1 1958 D Frankie.

I was just wondering how often any of you find buffalo nickels? I got 10 rolls of nickels from the bank yesterday and found 1, so i was just wondering how rare they actually are.
