Thank you. Some consider it a very over-priced bullion coin since it is a restrike. But with such terrific artistry in the design it was hard to pass up when I saw it. Was priced right when I bought it too, from James Ricks at Northeast Numismatics in Concord, MA.

Another coin from the collection along with the reverse of the 100 Leva. Same era, same region, different country. Used the proceeds from a self-directed 401-k that I cashed out a few years ago. The money had origianlly been rolled-over from a job I had from 1987 to 1989. For years the modest amount of money in the account had just wasted away under the burden of annual fees. I finally sold off the few shares still in the account, paid the 10% tax penalty, and put what little was left into this 25 Lei coin. Turns out it was a wise move, purchased on ebay for $390 about 7 years ago. Has gained around 400% since then.

Very big (25 g.) and nice coin: 5 leva 1894, silver .900. Ferdinand I as Prince.

 

Yeah I got 5 leva 1885 but was hanged. Otherwise it would be nice piece.
