A little background. A few years ago I won a very poorly listed Ebay auction. Bad pictures and description didn't say anything about the coins being proof. I ended up winning for about 50 bucks total (silver was much lower then) a 1954, 1956, and 1957 proof set. Since I got this cheap and I think the 1954 Franklin might get a cameo designation I am thinking of sending it in for grading also. Questions on it. I can even tell the Obverse is cameo. Is there a way for myself to tell if it is cameo or deep cameo? It has toning on the rim at 6 o'clock near "In God We Trust". I believe that is probably from the wrap the way the stored them in the proof sets. Does that sound correct? Also the 1956 Quarter (top one) looks to be a nice cameo. All and all and nice pick up!
Thanks. The reverse does concern me. It seems to have a bit of cameo but not enough to get the designation. I will try to take a picture later out of the holder.
Yeah..the more I look at the reverse I agree. Looks like the obverse is cameo only. I will put it back in the holder with the other 1954 proofs. Thanks for the confirmation.
