When you say proof die, are they usually extremely high quality and in perfect condition?

No, they're not given the preparation that proof dies and planchets receive, so they look just like a business strike coin, except for the separation between the A and the M.

I should add they're really rare... I've probably gone through $600 in cents by hand and only found 1 1999 WAM... and those are better odds than most people ever see.

Shucks. It's going to be tough to go through bags looking for WAMS. Once in awhile I will look through boxes of pennies(hate taking off all the wraps). Maybe, I will do it at that time. I really appreciate the info. I probably wouldn't have started the half dollar breaking if it wasn't for this forum. Now, I am hooked bigtime!!

Where you located at, by the way?

    WOW. I'm so jealous!!! :)

CONGRATS!!!!! When you open a box now, and find 2 40%ers, you'll be disappointed. LOL, but I'd love to have that problem. Yep, that is a once in a lifetime find. Please do post a pick so we can all drool....

I stopped by a bank today and they had 4 CWR and another $4 in loose: 6 40%ers
    I got a box at another bank: 1 40%er.

I consider that a pretty good day. :) Now, if I could just find 7 silvers every day.......:)

Coinman1974, are you sure it is a wide A M. There are none listed for that year. Can you post a picture of it. Also check the
reverse initials at the base of the steps on the right side. If the ' G ' looks exactly like what I just printed then you have a very unique LMC. I suspect what you really have is a worn die which can lead to a little space between the A and the M. Please check these areas on your 2002 LMC. Again, pics would greatly help. Thanks...zeke.

    7 dimes out of 150$ including 2 for the album (61 & 49S :smile)

That makes 33/48 found in circulation.

Okay you guys, why didn't someone tell me how much a $500 box of halves weighed? I really busted my hump lugging three boxes out to my car from the credit union. I must have looked like an idiot
trying to carry a box in one grocery tote bag and two boxes in another tote bag at the same time. I did make it, cause I'm here, but I tell you they were heavy.
Fortunately there are shopping carts where I live so that made a big difference getting them up to my apartment. I almost told my wife to call 911. I am a longtime heart patient
who doesn't obey the rules so I know it's my own stupid fault.
Anyhow I hope you got a chuckle out this coause that's what it was meant to do.
    First 3/4th of a box yeiled one 40%'er. at least it's not a skunk'er...zeke:eek::thumb:

Or never. I've been hard at it for a year and a half, searching (as of today) just short of $140,000, and I've found 28 Franklin, 12 Walkers and 0 Barbers. This truly was a one of a kind find. I don't see me ever getting that many of the oldies but goodies unless I find a dream box/find like he did. I REALLY want to see a pic so that we can drool. PLEASE!!!!!

    Very very true Bob.

I've searched around 30K worth of halves in two months with Three Franklins and Zero Walkers.

We definitely need to see some pictures of this find. I need some inspiration, I've come up pretty dry this week. $70 in loose and CWR with zero silver.
