Thanks for the replys but I'm surprise myself to have found a whole roll of silver like that. Thats why I was wondering how they get wrap. like merc said they get wraped by a machine, wats the odds of that happening again. Hopefully the other boxes comes out with more.. Ill keep u posted. Merc I also sold 157 dollars face at that time the silver 40% they were paying 3.00 bucks for each coin so i made that day like around 942 dollars.

Went to the bank, and they said a guy turned in 1500 in halves yesterday. I get a box......they were in fed wrappers with one end bent down, in other words, already searched. I returned the box and just bought 5 rolls to make sure. Yep, not a keeper among them. A went to my normal bank and got a real box......and got skunked anyway. I made one more stop and they had 2 halves, one is an MS 1967.....just a beautiful coin. The edge is blast white. I thought it was a 90%er when I looked at it...until I saw the date.

Well, back at it tomorrow.....boxes just aren't very productive around here anymore, for the most part.

That is incredible that you had a solid roll of silver in a box.....and all those walkers.....I've searched over $137,000 worth of halves in the last 19 months, and have found 12 walkers.....you about caught me in one roll. WOW. congrats!

Good day. Hit a couple new banks today. About $250 in halves... 6 40%'s and 2 90%'s, one a Franklin. The Franklin and one 40% looked brand new. The best I have found in rolls. Also found my first silver in a coinstar bin, a 52d dime. As well as about 10 pennies, a 2 peso coin, a game token, and about 2.25 in canadian.

I've never seen one of these facilities but I picture a big vat for each denomination. The halves get rolled and put into a box. Repeat. Your bank orders 1 box. The box that was filled right after yours probably went to another bank. If you had ordered 2 boxes maybe there's a chance that you would have gotten the next box. Just my theory.

Merc- Was this Craigslist or a dealer?

    Those are pretty! Nice finds.

7.5 on the dollar is what I got over the weekend. That is a good price.

Silver dropped a buck fifty during the week too, so I'm more than happy with it considering I "kind of" need the cash. I don't really need it, but it's nice to have the cushion.

Moonshine; It was a CL guy.

Loupe still isn;t here yet so I can't check out my questionable coins...but I did get my Red Book YAY

stopped at my bank today and got 4 rolls each of pennies and nickels, it was all they had basically. But this is the bank where I got 3 buffalos in 2 rolls of nickels so who knows? there might be something good

    Lol!

I'm still laughing at something my wife said this morning. She want's a cat, I'd like a bunny, so she suggested we get a crossbreed. I then had to delicately explain to her that not only would that be difficult, but the name she came up with for such an animal is already taken...

Out of two boxes ( 100 rolls...this week) : 1984 double ear, close AM 1992, (2)wide AM 2000, 1983 d/d reverse (one cent), 1940 canadian, 64 wheats..so far, and several generic errors...including a planchet, but a planchet from a box of bank coins? also, found a 1984 d with what appears to be d over d...pictures to come soon.

results of my 4 rolls each of pennies/nickels...
    Pennies:
    13 1960-69
    36 1970-79
    13 1980-81
1977 XF (possible AU-50) surprisingly shiny and in good shape, I'll put it in a folder
    1942 wheat

    Nickels:
    1955
    1960
    1962
    1964 x6 (for some reason I always get a bunch of 64s)
    1 Louisiana Purchase
    1 Keel Boat
1 dateless Buffalo (I guess this bank is pretty much a hot spot recently for buffaloes, that's 4 in 6 rolls)
also... 1 2008-P with really strange toning...all over the entire coin it has a gold tint, not bright but gives the illusion that it was made of a mixture of silver and gold lol...probably worth nothing but I thought it looked cool :)

btw, there was a really big abundance of D mint marks in all the rolls...surprising for me since it went across all years and coin types

Tom, are you going to a TD bank? I was finding a ton of Buffs in their boxes, relative to what is usual, until recently, when I'm guessing things dried up.
