I have not seen these before except for some of the posts I have seen of yours.
These are really very nice and easy on the eyes. Congratulations on your set. How many of these make a set?
How were they used for money? Yes I am new to these and do not know.

Nice! When were they supposed to be issued?

This particular set has only dollar denominations, most have fractional,s 5,10,25 and 50 Cent
Notes as well early sets Series 461,471,481,521,541,591,611,641,651 did not have $20,s in them
Only the later ones did Series 661,681, and 692 issue sets!

Mpc was used to thwart the black market most issues were only issued for a short time
And when they were called in the previous series was rendered obsolete and had no
    Value!

I remember when I first viewed your notes at the PCGS Registry....simply BLOWN AWAY by the scope & quality of your notes. You have to be very proud Rusty. I get goose bumps looking at some of them.

Yes, these are beautiful! The reverses are especially nice. Wow! Maybe one of the best of your sets so far. Really cool. You have so many lovely notes in high grade I have a hard time keeping it straight.

This is incorrect. Series 691 was intended to replace Series 651 in Korea. This is why there were no fractionals printed for Series 691. Fractionals were no longer being used in Korea so it was not necessary to print them for the series that was to replace Series 651. Instead of replacing Series 651 with another series of MPC, The use of MPC in Korea was ended in 1973 and MPC was replaced by regular US dollars.

There were fractional notes printed for Series 701. This series was originally destined to replace Series 692 in Vietnam, if necessary. When it was determined that thr fractional notes were no longer needed for Series 701, they were destroyed by the Army sometime in the late 1970s or early 1980s.

I am surprised that this information is not in Schwan's book since it is there for most of the series. The best we would be able to say is sometime in 1969. The first two numbers in the series number is the year they were printed. (This is in contrast to the year they were ordered. Series 471 was ordered in 1946 as Series 462. Since it was not printed until 1947, it was identified as Series 471.)

Since Series 651 was issued in April 1969, Series 691 was probably printed in the early part of the year. DoD Regs required there to be two different series of MPC in reserve at any given time and it is probable that the new reserve series was printed prior to the release of series.

Series 681 replaced Series 661 in August 1969 in Vietnam so Series 692 was probably printed middle to end of 1969 in order to have two series on reserve in 1969.

Interestingly, if I remember correctly, Fred Schwan was in Vietnam when Series 692 was issued and wondered why it was not Series 691. He would not find the answer until sometime in the 1980s when researching for the catalog.
