There was something wrong with your post so I fixed it for you. After making the happy announcement that The One and Only Legendary Rickey B will be returning to CT/PF The One and Only Legendary Rickey B has informed me I misunderstood him . I am saddened as I'm sure you & all his friends are at this change in his plans for the future. .He will always be remembered as a true friend to the forum and his generous to us all in knowledge & contest & just for being the good guy he is,all the best The One and Only Legendary Rickey B !
Thanks for the update guys. I cannot give enough thanks and praise to this man for his encouragement, generosity and spirit devoted to collecting, paper money and helping others do the same. Last week a note that belonged to RickieB, of the R.D.Bradley Collection, which I was fortunate enough to acquire from the Heritage Auction at FUN Tampa, finally arrived and is in my care. I've posted a side-by-side photo below of the FANTASTICALLY beautiful F-60 Series of 1917 $2 Legal Tender large size note graded by PCGS 63PPQ ChoiceNew!!! These notes both have special meaning to me. Rick's note represents a major upgrade to the first large size note I ever acquired, which is pictured here, a seriously worn note given to me by my grandparents many years ago. Rick's note is my first graded large size note in my collection. I once shared my worn note in an old thread when I was first getting to know Rick and learning about/thinking about collecting paper. This upgrade encompasses a very key mantra in acquiring notes that I learned from Rick, to wait for and to carefully acquire notes of the best quality you can obtain and afford. I add to that, to try to collect notes that have personal meaning/connection. These two notes have it all! While RickieB was active on CT, he always gave his all and shared all his collection with us fortunate to have seen it while the images were hosted here on CT. The amount I learned from Rick cannot be expressed in one simple post. It was immense and RickieB is a TITAN of the Paper Money collectors we have to aspire to and look up to for inspiration. Be well RickieB!!!
Dynamite pickup for you Chris and your expression of appreciation for conserving something that belonged to Ricky is indeed touching. Thank you Connor for the update on Ricky and I look forward to his return to the forums.
Thanks for the update/correction Bob and Clay While the news is sad, it is certainly understood! Chris, Congrats!!! I am glad some of the pieces went to CT members.
Nice notes. I tried to get on but the prices went up a bit to high. I'll try again in the next set he puts up, if he puts more up. Hopefully he gets to keep them though.
IMPECCABLE upgrade Chris, and great story about the note from your grandparents. As a tribute to RickieB, I would be tempted to have it reholdered, and pedigreed as an Ex-RickieB Collection note. You have to be excited about this note.....CONGRATS Chris
Thanks everyone. I am honored to be caring for this note and stare in awe at it's beauty, detail and lineage.
Funny as to how I responded to a thread (in another forum) regarding pedigree items Chris. I stated that pedigree meant nothing to me. All that mattered was the condition of the item. I think I mis-spoke. ....
