That's how the eBay seller describes his "error" nickel. Beautiful 2008P Jefferson Nickel Missing Nickel Clad This is an excellent example of "a little knowledge can be dangerous". As we all (hopefully) know, US Nickels have always been 75% copper / 25% nickel (except for War Nickels). That alloy is uniform throughout the coin. The eBay seller must think nickels are clad. Here is his description:
"and will shurly add" And who is this shurly he is referring to? She probably ran off with the clad layer. And banged up those full steps
No link to the auction? Surely, it can't be because you don't want anyone else bidding, so you can cash in on this super, ultra, mega, rare error where 25% of the 25% nickel plating is missing off the nickel?
:foot-mouth: Lol, I completely missed the link, usually it's in blue, so I just that that was bold text.
WOW! I like this one better with a million red arrow errors...LOL http://cgi.ebay.com/1989-Lincoln-Ce...24?pt=Coins_US_Individual&hash=item25608bdff4
The more arrows there are, the more important the "error" must be! To convince me it would need a lot more arrows!
Its funny his description says double struck in collar double die. Sounds like he meant machine doubling
