Just found an '81 woody. looks like it was pulled from a folder. The reverse is still mostly red, but the obverse is brown with a woodgrain effect.
It looks to me like you need to put that bottom one in some acetone before it is ruined. I like that one. Don't let it got to pot.
The 1934 is VERY nice. Rinse with acetone and put it in an airtite ASAP to stop it where it's at now.
now thats unusual ... philly wood from the mid 30's! cool! i got some new stuff. Okay not so new.. but hey this coin is on coinfacts!!! got it on eBay.. aint that special!
rlm's and Thad .. is this better ? OK , I soaked these wood toned cents in technical grade acetone and then let them air dry. I was not really sure what you guys were seeing in the previous photos , so maybe you can tell me if I accomplished what you were recommending the acetone bath for previously.
Much better. I can still see a bit of it, but the acetone should at least deactivate it from doing any more damage. Since you don,t see it yet, here is what we were seeing. It was only on the 1940 reverse.
