Guess the grade #142

Field hits/scrapes in right obverse field would be my guess (or at least it was the rationale I used when grade the coin).

I thought this one was a gimme --- and I was wrong!

 

I had to come back to this one today for a second look.. just couldn't get past an NGC65 for this one.... Only new thing I see today of potential significance is what could be a divot in abes for head (which could be the factor imo, if it's there).
Was someone golfing on abe's forehead and not replace thier divot ? up there by the hairline... how significant of a hole is that ? I'm thinking that maybe is distracting enough for the 65. ?

Here ya go.... if it is a hit, it's a lusterful divot... if it' not, then the only thing i can say is that this coin is not terribly dissimilar than some of the 67's I've seen.

 

The only thing I can make out there is a minor (very minor) discoloration.

 

Nah, it's the right obverse field they didn't like. The fields are very important.

 

still can't believe thats a 65. I really thought it was a 66.
