I really doubt a scientist had anything to do with this.

Nice collection, I'm impressed but aren't they called cheques?

Yes, they are! Whether you use the European or American version, cheques or checks, they are called this because each one is nothing more than a "promise to pay" just like a check from your bank account. That is why the law mandates that they be destroyed whenever a casino goes out of business.

Very nice Chris. One more think you collect that I did not know about.

If I didn't collect coins, I think I'd collect casino chips - very nice collection there! And as far as pogs go, we still have all the pogs my kids collected when they were little - including the original pog mat and pog containers!!

There is one big advantage to collecting them, Charmy. You don't have to spend thousands of dollars for a reference library.

Very Cool set! I ordered a Whitman Casino Token Album, arrived today the WRONG size. :( Seems that there are small sized casino tokens as well, I did not know. Mine are the older "Dollar" size like these, mostly from Nevada.

There is a size difference between (metallic) gaming tokens, 37mm, and (composition) casino chips, 39mm. These are industry standards for all US casinos.

PS. Do you know any of the HofMann family in Coos Bay?
