got them both in the same night from 2 different people. Had to take a picture because my scanner program wont let me scan bills
Congrats man! I like searching for star two notes at work. I also buy out the other star notes I find from customers. :] Only one five, 3 ones, couple dozen two stars though! Happy hunting!
cool ... Q: are the 5$ 10$ notes w/ stars worth more than the 1$ notes with star??? I would assume yes but I collect strictly US coins
Nice find...I love finding star notes in circulation. As far as the $5 and $10 dollar star notes being worth more or less than the $1 dollar stars, it depends on the print run lenth. Short run stars are almost always worth more than star note runs in the millions. On average, a ONE dollar denomination short run star note has the potential to become 25 to 50 times FACE value, more than a $5 or $10 notes. There are some exceptions tho.
My wife has been bringing star $1.00s home from work for years, close to 900 to date. Don't know what she will do with them, perhaps put them on ebay when she hits the 1000 mark. A few years ago I was in a store when the cashier gave me change which contained 3 consecutive fresh $1.00 stars, I asked if she had more she was willing to part with, she said she hated new bills because they "stick together". Went home with 34 consecutive beauties at face.
For people who collect stars, that is the dream we have every night. Congrats seasnake on that payload!
Found another one last night this is getting weird. I understand finding 34 all at once but not one every other day. This one is not in as good as condition as the others.
A friend of mine hit a run of $20 stars from a cash machine, he sold them at 20% over face at a coin show
I find tons of star notes at my work where I handle north of $1k in cash every day, most days is closer to $2k. Few are nice enough for me to justify pulling to keep.
I should explain why I think this is weird. I'm the grave yard guy, and I only handle like $500 or less in a shift. and all but one are crisp bills.
