Fake cert? Is it still a quality coin or should I be worried?

So I bought a coin off ebay, it was a golden dollar sac coin. It looked really nice, had a nice holder and all of that. I just glanced at the certification stuff. Did not much car about if it was the ms-70 or whatever was on the paper, but upon further investigation of the holder, I am worried the coin could be a fake or what have you. I bought it because I knew a dealer in my area was looking for this paticular date and I told him I had a bid on one. He wanted me to get it for him. I am worried that this "fake" certification may make him not want it like he had intended. It still looks like a very good coin. I have some pictures,Thanks for helping.

I have never heard of "NGA" if your worried crack that bad boy and send it in to a reputable TPG like PCGS or NGC

Would it really be worth it? I mean....he was going to give me around $25 for the coin....which is what the coin price rates a MS-65....
It appears to be in great shape, I am worried that this holder will deter him....how do I break it open without ruining the coin?

In any case, seller has TONS of the NGA certified coins. As soon as I called him on it, I had a full refund with an urgency to keep the coin as a token of our friendship. I guess, all in all it works out.
Should I post a feedback about these fake certs or just leave it alone. I did not take very well pictures, but it appears the coin is in extremely good shape.

I doubt there are any fake 2004 proof sacagaweas in the whole world. It unlikely it is reallt ms70, but I'm sure it is still a good coin.

You will find that many people have there own grading companies and sell them, giving them outrageous
Grades not that it has happened in this case but it happens more then you know it just depends
If your friend wants it certified or not?

As far as breaking the slab, there are many you tube videos but it,s fairly easy just take a towel
Over a corner and use a hammer and give it a hit, it usually works on the first try but it make
    Take several ;)

Ah, I guess for now I will leave it in there. If my dealer wants to leave it as is he can, or if he wants to break it open I will leave that up to him. Based on the book of grading that picked up a few weeks ago. (I am very new to coin collecting) It could pass as 65 or 66.
I have no magnifier though, just using my eyes.

Unless it has an unusual amount a marks on it, it would likely grade at least pf67

Hardly any marks at all. I see on piece of what appears to be lint or some sort inside the case on the coin, out of the field in the background, which by what the book states, is perfectly acceptable since it does not draw away from the coin itself. The only problem is, I cannot see the rim of the coin due to the foam insert...but I guess that is okay. As long as my dealer is happy with it so am I.

I feel for those middle graders! I mean PCGS, NGC, ICG has a flat out monopoly on graded coins, that it doesn't give these middle guys any chance what so ever to have a legitimate say in the market. I also know there's company's out there that our outright crooks!
Hey what about that CAC deal???? You know where they will add a label if it truly a 70?

The cert/slab itself isn't fake, just that even though it says "Authenticity Guarantee", it doesn't matter as you won't find a mailing address. It falls into a "self grader". Many companies produce the holders along with available labels, almost each one a -70. Just grade and price the coin at that, and consider the slab as a free holder. Several times a year, I get an offer to buy such slabs, or they will send me a "discounted " 100 already to put on ebay.

Not really a "Fake Cert" just a small fourth tier grading service. (Third tier now I guess because in my opinion the second and third tiers have merged) There are a lot of these small services and most of them do not last long. I haven't seen this one before but I recognize the shells they are using. They were originally marketed by CSI Certified Silver Institute. CSI had their own grading service for a short time but they do most of their business in selling shells to other small grading services. There are about a dozen companies that are or have used these shells.

NGA is another eBay seller who grades his own coins. I will not give names, but he buys holders from, along with many others, the man who owns the basement slabbing service on eBay called NAC.

With the caveat that I wouldn't have bought it in the first place, since he gave a refund, I'd give him good feedback unless you truly feel he is doing something unethical or illegal. If so, maybe the proper response would be to tell ebay. However, I'm not sure selling fourth tier slabs is unethical or illegal. Caveat emptor and all that.

Perfect Creature, are you sure you can't just open the case? Cases from PCGS and other reputable graders sonically seal their cases, but I doubt that an amateur would.

I bought a couple of Susie B's that came slabbed by unknowns. They weren't advertised as being graded they just came that way and I liked the coin. But, I found that I was able to just pry it open with my fingernails without any effort at all.

I've seen slabs for about .50-1.00! Use an app to make an awesome label, and bang you have a PR-70! I might get a few and grade them MS-71+ First Strike - Early Release - 1 or 50 - 14th Anniversary!
The sonic sealing (Use of sounds waves to weld the plastic) would be a little tough to get cheap, but If I was making real money at this, it would be a worthy investment to pick a small unit up from a vendor.

I think I will! I'll report back my findings LOL Should be fun!

Ive seen those slabs before, I may even have a couple laying around somewhere. I don't have it in my hand but I do remember they are easily opened with no tools. I think they just clip or slide together somehow if memory serves me correctly.
If you look at it closely you'll figure it out pretty quickly
