I put this on the scanner to get a better look at the date and mint mark. when I looked at the scan I noticed some other spots I need to look closer at. ( I have a loupe on the way )
I thought it was a weak strike or grease filled die but there looks like there might be some doubling.

I believe that is Machine Doubling and below the date are the initials J.S ( John Sinnock) the person who designed the Roosevelt dime.

thank you... I'm going to take a closer look when my loupe gets here. and I know about the initials I just put an arrow there because it looks weak along with the 2 and the P.

That is pretty common, especially on Roosie Dimes due to how close the date and LIBERTY are to the rim. It's just like the Buffalo Nickels.

Thanks for the info the soft 2, js, and odd P is what I was originally looking at when I found the Doubling.

Looks like scanner ghost image doubling to me. Definitely take a closer look at it under the loupe, but scanners are very good at producing reflections that just aren't there.

Struck through error. Grease on the die. Prevents from forming devices that are filled during the strike. Common.

Don't assume it's an error. Ask all the questions first and then we will try to figure it out.

Here are 2 interesting coins I can make no conclusion on

anyone have a clue - the penny has many mint marks, and the dime has a 1942 under the date which looks like it was partially removed, then struck with the earlier year

    i added better pics below
