    Hello,
I have a silver Saint Gaudens coin that I have searched the web for without any luck. It doesn't have the double eagle on the back, but a single eagle on what I believe is an olive branch. On the front it is undated. I have found many that are similar with the difference being either a "Winchester" or "Silvertown" marking on them. Mine does not have either. I have had the coin for over 20 years and was wanting to know if it's worth holding onto for the kids, or even the silver value, which I am sure would be worth it alone in time. I forgot to mention that it does state "One ounce .999 fine silver" on the back.

It's a generic silver round and at today's silver price it's worth just a little under $30.

Thanks for the quick reply. That is bad news for my 13 year old daughter and I! She was pretty excited that it might be a hiden treasure. Thanks again for your knowledge and time. We are new to the coin world and need all the help we can get.

I was thinking.. Because it doesn't have a trade mark is that why it would be considered a generic? It might be fun to have a real and a knock-off. So I should only look for onces that have the "Winchester" or "SilverTown" on them?
