Are you worried that it falls short of 5FS? I have learned not to distrust NGC with regards to the FS designation. I am confident that my photos will show the steps better than the Heritage images. And I will start a new thread when I get the coin.
Candidly, I was more worried about the 7 grade. You have a good eye, though, so it's not like I'm that "worried". If it were just about anyone else, I would be.
Well, honestly, I have no idea if the coin is good for the grade or not. I know that the surfaces are clean enough, but those photos tell me nothing about the luster. The simple truth is that most collectors are afraid to buy top pop NGC full step Jeffersons. And for the most part, their hesitation is well founded as most NGC MS67's would not cross to PCGS at the same grade. However, as long as the luster on this coin is strong, I am confident it would not look out of place in a PCGS MS67 FS holder. FWIW, I think the price I paid for this coin reflects the reluctance of other collectors to purchase top pop NGC full step Jefferson Nickels. My gamble was buying the coin sight unseen. I feel good about it though after having seen so many other NGC MS67 1950-D Jeffersons. When I get the coin and create the new thread, I will be sure to compare it to some of the other MS67 1950-D's in my collection.
Just a request to those posting Heritage links: I know we are a small minority, but those of us who are under 18 (and therefore cannot create HA accounts) cannot see the prices realized in the links you all are posting. Would it be too much to ask if people accompanied their links with the final price in parentheses? I enjoy following this thread but would much rather read the posts with some concept behind the values of coins in question. I only ask you to consider. Thanks to any that can do this for us, and may you all have the best of luck in the shark pool (from what I can surmise...) that is the FUN auction !!
Price is not as import as the coin. And you really should have a parent create an account you can use on heritage. The archives are a valuable tool to me. So from heritages images here is the coin I won.
Nice! Copper is flying off the shelfs right now! But I do understand how he might wanna follow along. If I win ill try to accomodate once again nice coin MArk!
YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!! If it is what I am hoping it is......................................... This will be a first for me searching for something specific that if it turns out........ then again if it seems to be good to be true.......
I can't wait to see it hand and image it my self. Luster is an unknown. I have 2 other 67RD that leave a bit to be desired. Really hoping it turns out better than it looks. The fields on this one are a lot cleaner.
Well, I did not get shut out, but I did not win much. I only got 1 of the 5 I bid on and it was the cheapest. BTW, Nice VDB!
Awesome wins everybody Just won this one....This was the only Buffalo I liked and wouldn't you know it as soon as I got logged in it was up!
