I got out of coin collecting during the silver spike of 1980. I didn't return until after the spike of 1990. I didn't even pay attention to coins during that time. I spend time and money on stamps. I was very surprised/puzzled when I returned about 1991. What the heck was this thing called a "slab"? Unlike the OP, I didn't want to appear dumb and ask. Took me a while to figure it out.
couldn't resist.... lol I do love internet kids... push some buttons get an answer! Rhetorically.. who was/is smarter?
Slab: A four letter expletive some people like to use; others do not. I feel that like any good expletive, the word has its place for some occasions...but not for others. Some people are addicted to the word, however. It seems their entire existence centers on the word. They are fixated on the word and its many manifestations. Others prefer the three letter expletive "raw." They would never be found uttering the other word. I hope that helps. So, be careful. Pick your expletive with caution, depending on the crowd you keep. guy
Yeah okay, I'm only 12. I know I could seach it up, but my internet was slow but going on cointalk was fast for some reason.
very few collectors in the UK have their coins slabbed, we prefer to keep them in other forms of storage systems such as trays, albums and cabinets.
Yeah, we do a lot (well, at least I do) of kidding around here at times. Remember John, the stupidest question is the one that's never asked.
