Dunno if I'd be willing to deal with that... shop around, there's gotta be a bank with a coin counter around.

Congrats on the Frankie, by the way, they're tough to find in boxes.

    Nice haul Merc!

I know what you mean, it's an addiction. I find myself spending more time hunting down halfs than I do working. Thought I was going to slow down this week but found out I have to travel out of town for work. Instead of planning what I need to take with me for the job I'm planning the towns and banks I'm going to stop at

That doubling looks like strike or Machine doubling. The error that adds the value to the coin is when the die is engraved in such a way that doubles the image. This is a cool find, but not a real valuable one.

Here's a link to nearly every known die variety, including the doubled dies. That I use

$100 in halves yesterday, all of them had been previously searched. One wrapper was marked "Franklins" and I had hopes, but it was filled with Kennedys and the wrapper marked "64 Kennedys" was all clad coins 71 and newer. Guess they reused the wrappers. Nothing in the $40 Quarters either except the 2009 D Mariana Islands.

    A milestone

I've sold almost everything that I find, and use it to fund my collection.

3 silver roosies out of 125$ yesterday gives me 29 in the album and 100 (two full rolls) of duplicates & mercs.:D This is over about a year of searching dimes. (Halves I started in September 09).

A milestone I have been looking forward to.

Man, that's the way I feel about that 88 rev 89. I keep looking and looking !! I know I will never find anything else, but that knowledge hasn't deterred my ardor. I guess I'll quit looking for something when my eyes go or I pass on, whichever comes first. lol Are we all type "A" personalities and prone to addiction ?

I get four boxes of halves tomorrow man am I psyched. The four I got last week only yielded 3 40s so this week has to be good right?? I look for silver and proofs, what else should I be looking for?

I think we are, I know I am. I used to go to a psychiatrist for anger management (I was almost sent to Valley Forge Military Academy due to behavioral problems, lol) when I was younger, and he warned me and my parents that I should never become a heavy drinker and/or gambler because I'd probably ruin myself pretty quickly. So instead of drinking (which I do, but not too much) and gambling (lottery once every other month or so?), I merely roll search.

BTW, I check every 1992 and 1999 cents I come across for the ClAM and WAM varieties... I'd kill to find one.

Bet they're skunks. Life is funny like that. I only look for silver, proofs, and foreign coinage, btw.

I had a dream...that I got a box of halves and it was full of silver, and the rolls were ripped just enough for me to see the silver edges...and there were two franklins on the top of two of the rolls....I dreamt that I found a walker too...there was a bunch of other weird stuff in the box too, like clearly non-coins...is it sad that I started dreaming about roll searching?

They don't call the greatest boxes "dream boxes" for nothing. ;)

Moonshine: That is an incredible percentage of 90%ers you are finding. Of my finds, 21% are the 90% kind and 79% are the 40%. Also, I've only found 12 Walkers in a year and a half, and you have 9 already......Great job!
