If you score each side it will break easier. I would cut and break it into 6 inch squares that will be easier to handle. My experience calls for the use of a vice to squeeze the plastic into expansion to release to coins. Be careful. It is going to be a lot of work, regardless of how its done.
Living where I do (cold north), I'd leave it outside in the single digit weather for a day or so, then use a hammer. Do it outside where the shards can be cleaned up or don't matter. Just an option.
Wow, a thorny problem. I found this https://www.plexi-craft.com/acrylic...ylic softens at,does not risk melting acrylic. if I were trying to do something with this, I would probably start by breaking it into smaller pieces by scoring the front, placing it on some edge supports and standing on it. Be careful, it might shatter. This will give you several pieces to experiment with.
i cant believe these answers. cmon folks climb up out the dark ages.its simple.go back to 1906.before acrylic was invented.DUH
Well, this case has proven more sturdy than I anticipated. After scoring the front, stacking 20x bricks on them, and then jumping up and down, not even a bend in the wood. Edit, the image doesn’t show it, but there’s about a 30 degree incline there.
