Do you know of any particular reason why only in CT?

I purchase about 2 boxes per week from CT when I'm traveling through for work. I can say that the boxes I get in CT are no better than the boxes I get from other places. Way more skunks than boxes with silver in them and never a box like posted above.

Went through $250 in halves and found nothing.

Was able to fill in a few slots on in my book however so not total loss.

Picked up $100 in nickels yesterday. Only had time for 5 rolls, but found three pre-1950 and 5 .999 canadians!

Couldn't tell ya why, but I know of at least two people in CT that pull solid boxes almost all the time.

Yeah, if my girlfriend is working in NH again this summer, I'm totally finding my way up there for 3 or 4 days to wander around CT and whatnot looking for silver.

Also, I don't know how the number "two" didn't make it into my post. Brainfart.

Off to the bank shortly to pick up my last order of halves.

I had 13 in a row which was the board record, but Erin (AggieCollector) has just tied it with his 13th in a row.......My break came in my 14th roll of the 14th box. We'll see if Erin sets the new standard.

I did a box and was skunked. That is my 6th skunk in my last 8 boxes and Erin (lives 5 miles from me) has 13 skunks in a row. Houston is now devoid of silver......

Not only the streak but overall only 1 box in last 19 had any silver as 1 box had 2 40%'ers. I am just hanging out at home today but I guess I can try to get a box when I take my nephews home here in a bit. Will let you know how it goes.

Said eff the halves, and got a bag of dimes. $572, 3 silvers, all roosies. Also got a bag of cents ($50) off the same machine, if there's anything good, I'll post it up.

I agree that selling to a dealer is not as profitable as selling yourself through eBay. If you have the time, it's easy to open an account and truthfully somewhat exciting to see bids come in when you use an auction listing. For us retired folks, it beats the heck out of watching Dr. Phil or Judge Judy. lol Dealers must turn a profit, so they can only offer you wholesale prices for your stuff. sometimes that's pretty low. IMHO

    Thanks,

That's a record I don't want to hit, but I'm starting to get the feeling that Brinks in the Carolinas is picked over. I finished my fifth box with nothing except for a 2004. Going to work on box six and seven this weekend with number eight on order for next week.

I need to find a bank that will let me order through Dunbar. I found out that the major credit union in the state won't sell bags from the coin machine and they exclusively use Dunbar armored services.

Did 4 boxes of halfs yesterday and found ZERO Silver!

Just did 2 more boxes today and found a total of 12- 10 @ 40% and 2 Franklins at 90%

    The Franklins were a 52P and 58P.

The real good thing is that the 58P turned out to be a Mint-State Business Strike Franklin with a Type 2 Proof Reverse! :)

I think I used up all my luck yesterday. I did about $400 in halves and skunked out. I need to find a bank with a coin machine that takes halves so I can stop rolling these blasted things.

edit: actually I take that back. I just saw one that caught my eye. 1987 S. Looks like I found a Proof that found it's way into circulation somehow. Half score I guess, lol. Edges are copper, but everything else about it is close to flawless.

Not proud and don't want it but we have a new record for futility. ARGH!!!!! Went this afternoon to stop the bleeding on boxes. Capital One has switched to Brinks but they had an open box that someone purchased $300 out of. I bought the other $200 and a full box they had. Then stopped by Wells Fargo on the way home and picked up another box. Figured this would be a way to break the streak. Alas.....the streak now stands at 15 boxes and 20 rolls out of a partial box. Not only have I found zippo silver over this run but I was finding a fair amount of proofs prior to this streak. I have not found any proofs in this run and only 2 NIFC halves.

Combined with Bob, we need to buy up all of the halves in the area and take a road trip to dump them out of state and start over lol.

For the record, also stopped at 4 banks which surprisingly yielded, $61, $110, $40 and $80 in CWR. Wanna guess how many keepers in that lot?(

Also Bob, the dump machine at JSC was having issues so I dumped some at the Wells Fargo at 646 as this is someone else's dump bank so I figured it was a good place to turn them in. Did not want you to waste time with my dump.

Going to eat A LOT of Black-eyed peas Saturday!!!!

Locke- I recently found that my bank would sell me $50 bags fresh from their coin counter that people dump there. Assuming that you're not at someone's dump bank that might be a good score. I'm waiting for an old lady to dump her jar that's been in the basement for 2819 years. I'm going to give the bags a shot for a while instead of brinks.
