1953 s penny with silver color on it. Is this a error coin?

    My mother in law gave me this 1953s and 1953d penny with a silver on it. Is this one of the error coin?

    Most likely just plated, and actually quite common. No numismatic value.

    Weights of the coins would be much more helpful than pictures.

    When I was in the Navy way back in the 1900's, we used to make Silver Pennies" when we were board. Used silver solder on a new cent and Viola one silver penny into circulation.

    Cents were solid copper alloy until 1982...
    Were talking about earlier pennies here.

    Is that silver level or raise to the rest of the coin? I am not sure you can tell, but does it go over the edge? My first tale is that it is a strike through, but then it is hard to tell from pictures.
