    CEC is probably a CRAPPER company. Like SEGS!

    There was a thread on a different forum I subscribe too that addressed CEC as a viable third party grader. I ran an experiment in which I won an auction for 3 consecutive $1 2006 New York Star notes that I didn't need just to see how close to grade 70 they are. I won the auction for $9 and free shipping for all 3 notes. After recieving the notes, I scannned them in their holders, and then cut them out and re-scanned them. These are the results;

    All of the notes are without folds,pinholes,or corner bumps. The notes are all CH-CU with GEM centering, and would probably grade at 64 thru 66 range with a PPQ/EPQ notation. The CEC notes I saw on eBay are all being sold by debockstate. Most of the notes are fairly current, CH-CU notes. The CEC holders are smaller than traditional TPG holders, and feel like the plastic of a beachball.

    I've only seen 70's from them. Homemade grading company. The grader is probably the seller.

    Reminds me allot of RCGS the owner is the grader and seller on e-bay doesn,t grade many 70,s
    But his grades are atleast 2 full grades higher then what they should be!

    Be careful if the plastic that these notes are holdered in is a soft plastic, it may have pvc plasticizers contained in them, I think that pvc is no less harmful for notes than they are for coins.

    Hey Steve, do you plan on sending these out to get regraded? the 91* looks more like a 67 or 68 at best
    The lower boarder on that one is kind of short!

    I kinda prefer my notes RAW. The only graded notes I have, were purchased graded, and so far, these 3 are the only ones I have cut out of the holders.

    Good idea if you're only looking for certain districts in a series like it seems you are Steve. I would get them out of those phony grading holders just in case. If the grader grades everything a 70, then who knows what other errors he is making.

    When you see that many 70,s from one company there credability really comes in to question
    This guy i guess we can call him Mr. 70...LOL

    Yeah, like I said, when 70's are on everything.... its a CRAPPER company.
