An ebay threat?

I understood your intentions and I was offering caution per CT rules if Pilkenton proceeded in this thread. However, what you perceive to be fair to post and not in violation of CTs 'self promotion' rules to that of what someone else considers it to be may be two different things, let alone what a Mod might think about it. Suggesting someone share their handle from another site is also a matter the OP may wish to keep to himself. And as Farstaff mentioned, there's a place on CT for the OP and others to share their links to off-site auctions, or to "improve their own situations", this thread isn't the place for it.

I've already been PM'd about this. If anyone wants to know my handle or the other guy's handle, PM me.

    You'd make a good mod Krispy... :p
Yeah, I think Farstaff has the best solution.

Heck no! You'd have your own say any old time as I would create a subsection of the forum for eBay/PayPal topics to be placed and discussed. It would be opt-in only the way General Discussions are so those not interested wouldn't see the topic pop up in coin threads when a given thread wasn't about coins but rather problems with those sites. :)

The buyer's handle can be posted here without a problem. My guess is you could post the listing, but that is kind of iffy. However, the easy solution is for whomever gets the pm to post the listing here. It is absolutely NOT against the rules for someone else to post another's listing, name or whatever.

I did notice that one of the exceptions to self promotion in the rules was tying your ebay link to your profile info/signature.
(Which I have seen many folks do here.)

Yes, in my opinion the rules would allow this.
Not to offend you ratio411, but how about we let a real mod of the forum chime in on this with a new thread on this subject and not high-jack Pilkenton thread?

    My apologies.

    Good luck Pilkenton.
    Let us know what happens.
I hope the neg is removed.
It was a pretty crappy thing to do.
If he was serious, he'd have considered the full refund.

Man, I could have sworn I had the option last week when leaving feedback for a buyer that I could have left positive, negative or nuetral ? Maybe I better go back and see exactly what I did ?

Yes, buyers can get different ID's, but if you only accept PayPal, they have to get a new PayPal account also. Seems like a lot of work just to keep buying stuff from the same seller. I haven't bought a single item from anyone that was worth that much work to go back to them.

I am surprised about the feedback though. I both buy and sell, so I probably got it wrong.

The ability for sellers to leave buyers negative feedback when away back in 2008. Look up the topic on ebay forums within the ebay web site. However, if a seller receives a negative feedback from a buyer the seller may post a response to that feedback -or- ask the buyer to retract the negative feedback mutually (up to the buyer to go back and request it be removed).

Sorry to hear Pilkenton, hopefully eBay will withdraw the neg. Seems like tpfaff100 is the buyer, here's a link to his feedback left on toolhaus: Feedback left by tpfaff100 148 feedback left, with 4 negs and 3 neutral, I know 1 name I'll be adding to the block list.
