The world will be a lesser place without him

I have similar experiences with Cameron and have fond memories. The world will be a lesser place without him. This is very sad to learn.

As a young father in the coin buisness I can only begin to describe the pressures and stresses that are a part of my life. I can really empathize with his situation. It's amazing how quickly things can seem to get out of control. It's a darn shame that it came to this as it looked like he had many friends who would have helped him. I did not know him personally but from the responses it looks like he will surely be missed.

His problems were insignificant compared to his potential.

    He'll be missed.

    RIP

Think hard about that -- think carefully about all the impacts you can so clearly see, and about what mental state would allow a good man to kill himself anyway -- and maybe you'll start to get a glimmer of insight into what "suicidal" (as opposed to "stressed and unhappy, but mentally sound") really means.

Yeah, it was a lousy thing to do during the holidays. So is having a heart attack. Both are medical emergencies; neither is a deliberate choice to be "lousy".

RIP, Cameron Kiefer. I'm sorry you suffered and I'm sorry you've been lost.

Yes. This morning I got a confirmation of Cameron's passing from a very reliable source but with no details.

Last night I stayed up late searching on-line for any information about Cameron. The news was quickly spreading across the coin message boards. On one message board (that shall remain unnamed) the members apparently attacked Cameron recently over some supposed misdeeds regarding his coin business. I hope those people did not drive him to suicide.

This is all too sad. I did not sleep well last night due to this news. It is all too confusing and sad. Perhaps we will get some more details over the next few days.

Just hear say so far - I checked the Denver Post a few moments ago -

and there was an unidentified man who had fallen fom an overpass on the interstate in the Denver area.

I too was shocked to hear of Cameron's demise. My heartfelt sympathies go out to his Family.

I'm deeply saddened and have great sympathy for his family. Yea, I saw all the banter about him on one of the boards, and I came to his defense because the only dealing I ever had with Cameron was easy and very pleasant.

Well CU has taken down all post regarding this so I have my doubts. I certainly hope its just a case of somebody posting without checking for facts.

This morning I got confirmation of Cameron's death from a very reliable source.

Yes, there was a suicide in the Denver area on Monday where a man jumped off a bridge onto a big rig. According to the latest reports the man remains unidentified. The police thought the man was homeless. That description does not sound like Cameron.

I can confirm for you all two things. 1.) Cameron is gone. He leaves behind a wife and two kids. A service is being prepared. 2.) The article where a man jumped off a bridge is not Cameron.

This was just posted in a thread at CU:

    Hi, This is J.P.Martin
I just picked you at random to pass a message to the board members,
I've noticed a lot of Cameron comments here recently. I thought I might
bring you all up to date before you dig too deep a hole.
I've known the kid for 6 years, and knew him to be one of the most
genuine and honest people I've known. I have not worked with him since
he left ICG in march 2008. Cameron tried to make it as a dealer since. I'll
be the first to tell you He did not do well with money. I think He was very
desperate to salvage his families finances and reputation over the last few
weeks. I'll tell you all that he held the PCGS board members opinion of him
very highly. He has been robbing Peter to pay Paul, hoping he could make
it right. Sadly this drama has played out as a tragedy.
Cameron Kiefer 28, took his own life with a gun early tuesday. He leaves
behind a wife,a 3 yr old daughter and a one yr old son.
Call him a crook, call him a coward, I just miss my friend and wish I could
have him back for mere dollars.

I was not the person that got the email, but for J.P. Martin to say this, looks like we all know this horrible tragedy is true, and now we know the 'how'.....though, we do know the 'why', perhaps we'll never really know 'why'.

I didn't know Cameron. Reading this thread, I'm sorry to say that I'll never get the chance to know him. My sympathies and prayers go out to his family and friends.

Truly sad news. My thoughts are with his family in this time of loss . It's a shame that no one saw that he was in deep emotional turmoil ., before it came to this act.

I hate to hear all this. I know the other board was bashing him pretty good and I offered my support of him in one thread. I never knew Cammy personally and only dealt with him a time or two, but it was always good dealings.

My prayers go up for his family. I guess most of us would have helped him out in some way if possible, if we had known it had come to this.
