Indian Head Cent. They were the small copper cents used between the 1860's to 1909 when the design changed to Lincoln/Wheat cent

    Although this isn't a coin......

I found a 63A $5 fed reserve note today! Good condition I might add.

Yep! Here I yam! But I don't know about the statistics for this note since I don't know which district the note was from, whether it's a star note, if it has a fancy SN, what the condition may be for offering a grade and assessing any value...

I will hazard a guess it's a Chicago note, as this district had the most notes printed of Series 1963 A. However, that could well be wrong since Philly, Richmond, Atlanta, and SF all had printages greater than 100M notes each!

Also, the 1963 and 1963 A Series $5 notes had a design change-- the motto, "In god we trust" was added on the reverse side of the note, above the Lincoln Memorial.

I just hope people will post photos of their 'oldest circulation finds' rather than saying IHC or this or that. Lots more fun with pics!!! :thumb:

It is a five dollar federal reserve note from New York, no star, has motto and SN is B 23726582A. I will try to get a pic up as soon as I can. :)

Series of 1963 A - Printage was 98,080,000 notes for New York.

Guide book value approx. $6 in VG / $15 if ChCU. Yours being circulated, may be $1-$3 depending.

Indeed. It's hard to miss those things, which only serve to devalue the note. I'd say face. But a wonderful find nonetheless! :)
