    +1

Calling a member out by their FORUM USERNAME does absolutely nothing for the guests and members of this forum other than let them know to stay away from them. (In this situation anyway)
We do not learn any of their personal information at all.

once I get my issue resolved, I'll be requesting a ban of that member

    then this
From what he told me, he sent it and I never got it. He said he insured it, but never followed up and has stopped returning my emails after I told him to put in a claim, get the cash, and send me 2 rolls of 40%'ers he owed me... he never responded.

    Then this from coinup

One member, cerdsalicious, had an ad for bulk Morgan Dollars for sale...(some of you may have seen it, said he was seeling for a house purchase or something), we emailed back and forth and came to an agrrement on a price for a roll of circulated pieces. I promptly sent a MO on 12 Novemeber and waited like always. After almost 2 weeks and no Morgans, I emailed him for info. He replied that they were mailed out on the 24th. At this pont it's been a month since I mailed payment and still no Morgans. I emailed Peter here at CT and he has since posted this issue for future reference. As of today, I will be sending as tracer on the MO and filing a complaint to the USPS for fraud via mail. I tried to give him plenty of opportunity to make good and I have heard nothing from him since the earlier reply.

    Then this from merc crazy

it appears that may have been a mistake regarding my issue with Sampson. he has taken the necessary steps to rectify the issue. I will update when I recieve my halves, but i will say i have faith in him coming through.

    Then sampson arrives with a little more light on the subject;

Thank you Merc Crazy for explaining the situtation. I apologize for the lack of communication but as I stated my computer was hacked by a lowlife in the UK and he stole our credit card and debit card info and went on a shopping spree. We have been trying to get this figured out for months, I am sorry your e-mails were not responded to. It was all just miscommunication. Mail does go missing and now because of a dishonest person out there I have a maid fraud complaint filed aganist me! I don't even know what that is, my wife thinks I will be getting arrested for a package's that I sent and didn't arrive. Not cool

Then a little more from the other coinups buy of morgans from cerdsalicious,

not yet - I made one last effort today with the seller...no reply. Monday I'll send in paperwork for a lost MO/trace and hope I get a refund from the USPS....I'll keep everyone posted with updates/changes.

so anyway, this is a sort of high points summary for this drama, personally, I think mercrazy owes sampson an apology, someone owes sampson some coins, and if I were looking to deal in the future, I would have no problem dealing with sampson.

And if mercrazy wants to know why he should owe sampson an apology he should review the posts.

We should sell this story to a Latin soap opera, even if we can't understand all the Spanish, it would be entertaining I bet.

As far as I'm concerned, everything between Sampson and myself is settled. I'm still going to the baseball HoF next summer, except I'll be swinging by his place with a six-pack of beer for him. Most of our communication regarding this issue was done privately, as it should be.

I still believe that only part of this case is down.

I would be interested in to who the third party in this is, and if he has been reported to Peter, by Sampson.

I hear you and don't disagree. The responsible thing to do before calling anyone out, is to have confirmation ( USPS ) that those coins ( Package ) was actually delivered to this third party. It sounds like a big mess, however the USPS will provide the needed proof. Once that happens, a letter from the shippers attorney to that individual, should provide the incentive for this person to return those coins to the original owner . At the very least, this situation should make the shipper/seller to make certain, that don't repeat their error again. If this third party person turns out to be a minor, than they will have to deal with the parents accordingly. I still maintain the position, that members of this forum deserve to know who this person is .

I don't care if it is a $10.00 item, shippers need to take every precaution available to them, such as a signature confirmation . I think many of us have given sufficient time in discussing this incident. Now the shipper needs to do his part.

update: Asked the teller at the PO to call one more time as to the status of the MO before I submit paperwork ...it was cashed on on 11/18....6 days after I mailed it.
I sent paperwork in today for a copy of the MO so I can see who cashed it and where...then will submit results to USPS to follow up on the initial fraud complaint I sent in...

Like everyone else, I am sorry that this did not go well and I confess that I did not read through 12 pages of comments to track the whole story. Myself, I look at the huge success of Coin Talk as making this more of a city than a village. So, when I meet people whose posts and comments I like, I read their Profiles. We all protect our privacy, of course, but if you don't want to share any information about yourself, then we must stay at that distance and we cannot do business.

On the other hand, you chat with someone a few times over the years, you get to know them. If you read this Board often enough, you know who has kids, who is retired, who knows their subject and who knows enough to ask when they don't.

Myself, I do not like the eBay rating system and I would hate to see anything like that tried here. Basically, I look at this philosophically. Dierdre McCloskey has been writing about Bouregois Virtues for over twenty years.

Mike, unfortunately that goes right over the heads of probably more than half this CT membership. Nice try though.

Hey we all should know about "Bourgeois", it's that sauce they made on "Hells' Kitchen" last week.

Or maybe it was "Throwdown with Bobby Flay" ?
