Impossible to tell from the pics, but plenty of DDO's are less visible.

Since I am a novice, what is the difference between strike doubling and ddo. Is there a significant price difference. Is it worth sending in to get graded. I am thinking about sending it to Coneca. Any suggestions.

Is it worth more if it is a ddo?

Even if it is a doubled die, it's minor and would probably only fetch a couple of bucks. It would be a great find, but I wouldn't pay anyone to authenticate it.

Thanks for the advice jallen. I greatly appreciate all the input you and the others have given me. This is the reason I keep coming to CT and the only forum that I use when it comes to coin collecting.

Strike doubling, aka MD, is pretty much worthless. It's caused by the die either bouncing ever so slightly off the planchet, or the die shifting after it begins to strike the coin, from what I remember.

You're welcome! Another great resource for varieties is:

    www.coppercoins.com

You can search the year and mint mark for any known varieties they have listed.
