I was in there yesterday for some reason i cant remember and while i was at the window, i decided to take a withdrawel since i was in there rather than go to the atm, while this was happening one teller said to me "such and such"has some halfs and what coins were you wanting again, i said ikes or halfs,,,she said "the other teller wont be in till tomorrow, i think there silver she said"...I said ok thanks i'll come in tomorrow. Today i go in and the lady takes out a roll from the bottom drawer and its rolled in a paper deposit slip, she said there was no paper tube when they came in so i put them in here,,,then she pulled out another one,,at this point i had a $10 on the counter, when she says "do you want both",,,i said "i might as well" and gave her a $20 and took my $10 back. I get out to the truck and find 11-40% jfk's,,,12-90% franks,,,13 90% walking libertys,,,and 4 clad. i cant believe my luck,,,,first time,,,im glad i took the second roll too
I get both tellers some chocolates with the cherries inside or something,,,,one tellel told me about the other teller who actually had the coins..
yeah it deff made my day,,,,as soons as i opened the first, deposit slip wrapped roll and saw the reverse of a 90% er jfk i said no way they cant be all silver..man!!!
I just can't understand how anyone that works at the bank wouldn't buy them. Good for us collectors I guess!
yeah the funny thing is the tell who told me initally,,,one time i asked for halves and i saw her move ONE and put it in a nother section of the drawer and give me 6 or 8 clads for offer....i dont want to push my luck and ask her why she didnt keep em like she did that other time, mabey since it was not her drawer this time..on the other hand they will still both get chocolates,,,thats a great idea get on their good side and killem with kindness.
"sounds like some tellers deserve a big box of chocolates for Christmas." Absolutely!! Sounds like the beginning of a GREAT relationship!! P.S. Sees Candy is the preferred in Oregon! Steve
