Does anyone search rolls of Ikes? I mean have you bought them at the bank and found anything unusual?
Kent, In my area of Michigan it has been nearly impossible to find any Ike's at the bank's let alone rolls. The most that I have been able to find at any bank is 54 and that was because the teller that found them was specifically looking for them for me and found them at another branch. I ask every time I go to the banks with no luck since that find a little over a year ago. They are definitely worth going through to look for varieties. I never get rid of any Ike's anymore because there are new varieties being found in the series all of the time. Just found in my own stock of them in the last month was a 1972 S with Die Trails and a 1974 S Proof Cuni-Clad Micro "S" that were both the second coins discovered of those particular varieties. Brian Vaile of the Ike Group made the initial discoveries I learned of them and while looking for the Die Trails Ike I also found the Micro "S" That was a fun day. Terry
I just found this coin and realized it was not in my inventory. It was just photographed and added a week ago.
I thought this crowd might enjoy two recent bank finds of mine....a proof Ike and one that is either toned in a copper color or has had the outer layer eaten away. http://www.cointalk.com/t144325/
