My daughter has gone with me in the the past when i have bought silver/gold bullion and she is always drawen to the silver art bars which i have not bought as of yet. I was thinking with x-mas and her birthday comming i would maybe start her on a collection of them (art bars) for her own but have NO IDEA where to start and what to look for? This might be a silly idea all togather but i figuered it would give us yet another thing in common. Any and all help here would be welcome. I should note my "old dealer" does not carry silver any more (thats why he is my old dealer) so i will need to do this on line.

Somewhere on here is a whole thread on art bars. There are many pictures posted.

Yup that's the one. Thanks Krispy.
Like an idiot I sold a few of mine in early Sept. for $21 each. That was just before this last silver run up.
But luckily most were just plain APMEX bars, only one was an art bar "The Russian Seal". That one wouldn't fit in my airtite holders so I dumped it.
Every time I sell silver it spikes afterwards.

Pale Ridder, I have 2 silver art bars that were my grandfathers. One of them is a Christmas theme, 1985, round, (1 Troy ounce .999 silver it says) with a snowman on the front, some snowballs, branches of a fir tree, snowflakes in the background, and a beautiful wreath with a bird in the center of it on the back. It's really very pretty. Would you like me send it to you for your daughter? P.M. if so.

    Merry Christmas!

    I collect Coca-Cola bars...
Some are very plain looking and, well, unattractive, while others have very intricate and beautiful designs such as birds or flowers.

If you do not have another local dealer to go to or a coin show that is nearby, then buying online is your only choice. The only place online where you can find the right silver art bar is on ebay. I see several happy birthday silver art bars and a lot of Merry Christmas silver art bars. You can either bid on one or you can go to a "Buy-It-Now" ebay auction and buy it immediately. The downside with buying a silver art bar on ebay is that you will pay a much higher premium over spot silver as opposed to buying a silver art bar at a local dealer. If you decide to buy a happy birthday or a Christmas silver art bar on ebay, then it is best to shop around to get the best price. You can do an ebay search on silver art bars by typing in "silver art bars" in the ebay search field.
