There sure are! I think it might be fun to start a thread where people can showcase their other interests and talents, perhaps in the General Discussions Forum.
Fly fishing on the Betsie River, Northern Michigan. Might look like I was squeezing that fish to death, but I really wasn't.. right wrist was just out of a cast due to a break requiring plate and pins.. Rainbow Trout, very beautiful. Always catch and release. My very favorite to catch are the Sockeye Salmon in Alaska, when they are at the end of their run; they are vibrant red and a beautiful green...and, a lot of fight! I Love it! Lucy :angelbounce:
Today against UNR. Unbelievable ! UNR for cryin' out loud ? Go figure Sorry, I completely forgot about the bowl. I only spreadsheet the regular season, and don't figure bowl games into my stats because generally both teams are considered on the road. My bad, gary
This was the best I could do on pic with my hobbies http://www.grassrootsart.net/Events/EventsHalloween2010.html See second pic. I am wearing a blue blouse and carving a pumpkin. see fifth pic. That's very cool, Sunflower! I went through the website and checked out a lot of the folk art. Really interesting and some really talented people!
Nice catch! I've always wanted to do some serious trout fishing sometime. So far it's only been large-mouth and ocean dwellers for me.
Thanks. I hope the site links will hold up for awhile. Glad you seem to like them. I love art - and especially art which draws in community participation and other endearing forms of engagement.
Amen. One of the best days of my life was spent fishing for salmon in Anchorage, and I managed to catch a few sockeye. Had them smoked locally as soon as we docked and shipped home to NYC via Fed-Ex. I was in salmon heaven for almost two weeks! Did you know that wild salmon contains a chemical that makes you happy and content? It's true and I would rather eat fish than some strange pharmaceutical product with god knows what side effects.
Nice catch! I had the opportunity to fish the Betsie and the Platte back in the early 90's. Beautiful area. The visit to the hatchery on the Platte River was very interesting. We also took the opportunity to visit here while we were in the area.
Very talented, Sunflower! I really like the painting on the neighbors shed! Been doing a little of that myself, and a wall mural. I wouldn't dare post mine here, but yours, well like a said, very talented. Thank you for sharing! Lucy
Ha Ha! The casino! I think there are a few more here since the early 90's.. seem to be very very popular up here. Personally, I've only ever been to a casino once; it was like visiting another planet..all that bing, bing, bing, and constant humming. Not at all like on t.v. A different world..
I did not know this (about the chemical makeup..) but I do know there is a big difference in wild salmon and the salmon we have here in Michigan. I won't touch the ones here (to eat I mean.) I like tlhat, "..happy and content.." Maybe it's that they're just so darned pretty! Actually, ALL of them, all 7 species, are pretty, though one wouldn't eat them all.
