So, if your order still shows backordered with expected ship date then you DON'T have to call the MINT? I ordered during that time frame and never got an email and it shows as backordered with ship on 12/10/10? Any ideas?

Mine doesn't even have a ship date. Just says in stock and reserved. Last ship date it showed was 11/26 before changing to that.

You should be good. The orders that the mint lost were totally erased. Yours is still showing so I wouldn't sweat it.

Dang! that's and impressive pile of eagles!

Let us know how they grade out when you get them back. According to Coin World's Coin Values in this article PCGS has graded over 36k in Pr 70 already, out of +44k submitted as of the article's reporting!!! It's like a mini-mintage of limited PR70 perfect coins, the rest might as well be bullion at that rate. Not that I dislike the coins, it just starts to get silly with those enormous figures.

Aren't they referring to the bullion coins being 70s, not the proofs?

Will do Krispy! I'd be elated to get 80% graded PF70! I'll update with the numbers once I get them back from NGC.

Sorry, indeed they were talking about MS coins. Another topic all together I suppose about grading bullion... but can you just imagine the percentage of Proofs we may come to find out net out in PR70 if the bullion issues are able to get that many!

I read an article that stated with the new laser technology they expect 70%+ of all new collector and commemorative issues will grade out at 70. If fact, this will even improve over time to 95%. It will become the rule and anything less the exception. Doubling and weak strikes will be a thing of the past.

Amazing. I suppose that (perceived) perfection, and no longer the hunt for pieces that near perfection (according to grading scales) will come to ruin the hobby.

I like ASE proofs, but they (the mint) can keep their 2010s with their inflated premiums. Recently I picked up some graded ms 69 ASE proofs for $55 each. (various years)
The older non graded ASE proofs can still be found for really reasonable prices on some of the dealers tables too. In a few years We should see the 2010s coming back down to reality.....as their production numbers are more than ample compared to other years.

This years premiums over melt value are the lowest in the history of ASE proofs. They typically have sold for at least 100% mark-up over melt and have gone over 200%.

This year's premium is about about 80% over melt value. What price can you find on raw pieces in OGP? Under $45?

I don't get my order. Order in at 2:23pm ET and on the bottom right it says in stock and reserved. No ship date. Under the order date and time on the order status is says:
Your order request is on hold. Anyone else have the same thing?
    By the way. Happy Thanksgiving!

So, they shipped FedEx Smart-Post from Indianapolis at 3:30 this morning and arrived in New Berlin, WI, (just outside of Milwaukee) this afternoon at 2:30.
    What's wrong with this picture?????????

I live 35 miles NW of downtown Chicago! They drove right thru Chicago on the Tri-state (94).

Mine was on hold for a few days and I called. There was a problem with my credit card I updated on November7th. They asked me what date I updated my CC and that was the problem. My CC was OK, I just think the system had not yet updated my new card. I gave them my CC information over the phone and my order was sent for one Silver Eagle two days later.

Maybe because Fdx's distribution center is in New Berlin?

    http://fedex.com/us/smartpost/network/index.html

From there the packages are passed on to the postal service which handles the final delivery leg.
