What are some reputable websites to purchase coins from. Or are there certain websites than specialize in a type of coin? I will only buy raw, because they are going in albums. I know generally I can get coins cheaper in ebay auctions, but I can be a little impatient and sometimes I like to buy 5 or more at a time to fill a book. I don't mind paying a few more bucks for customer service and such. Today I am looking for Mercury dimes. Overall would you say going on ebay and sorting by buy it now would give me the best prices instead of an online store?
I sense you have trouble purchasing coin's through the auction house's because of your age ? You might want to look at joining your local area Coin Club . It's a worthwhile effort.
There certainly are many reputable sites, and those which are reputable and deal in specific types of coins. Cent coins for instance: The Penny Lady Rick Snow's - Eagle Eye Rare Coins Large Cents
I don't find much here but Northeast Numismatics seem to have a wide variety, are reputable and I've known some people who have bought from them with positive results.
I'm not sure what that means. I am 38 and have have purchased thousands of dollars worth through auctions. Auctions are time consuming and obviously I don't always win or they don't have what I need. I just want a place where I can go grab 5 common date mercury dimes for example. Without all the hassle of bidding and praying.
My three favorites, all of whom have provided me with quality service and product multiple times, without fail: http://www.providentmetals.com http://www.collectons.com http://www.mintproducts.com
I have made a couple purchases from Alaska Coin Exchange with good results. Grading is acurate, prices are reasonable, shipping is only $2.50, and I received my coins as fast as any dealer in the lower 48.
Perfect. providentmetals is an ebay seller with items I am currently bidding on. collectons is great. Thank guys!
