Yesterday I went to my local coin shop to sell a few of my Merc Dimes. They were common dates I bought back before the silver and gold jump. Paid .75 cents each. I needed the money to buy christmas presents. Anyway, I got $4 for the three I had. As I was walking out, the bargain bin grabbed my attention. Started digging through and found these: 1875 German 2 pfennig 1890 German 10 pfennig 1874 German 5 pfennig 1906 German 10 pfennig 1875 German 10 pfennig 1912 German 5 pfennig 1911 French 5 centimes Also 1942 quarter I asked the owner how much for all, and he said " How about 3 bucks?" I said deal! I took the 1942 quarter to a pawn shop and sold it for $4. Moral of the story: I got 4 bucks and 8 coins free. Im thinking of selling my roll of silver halfs. Money is not really tight now, but you never know what waits around the corner. Just thought that I would share that story with you. I thought it was cool.
You made a trip to the coin shop to sell 3 bullion dimes because you needed the money for Christmas presents and then spent the $4 before you left the store? Then made a trip to ANOTHER store to get your $4 back? Did you end up buying any presents? If so, how many did you buy for $4?
He could buy 4 gifts if he went to the dollar store rugrats. Not bad for a shopping "spree" though. Bruce
