I don't think it to be a coin because there is no date but it's a little heavy for it's size. Could be plated. Looks to be Mexican. Any ideas on what this is or represents?
What you've got is a Mexican marriage token (recuerdo matrimonial= wedding memory/keepsake). The bottom picture is upside down-- I believe it is supposed to represent two hearts joined in holy matrimony (hence the cross). Mike Locke has researched Mexican tokens.
