I can't believe what these 2010 proof silver eagles are selling for on ebay ! Pre-sale prices are kinda high, I'm with you folks though. If the quality is not there then back they go, I ordered 5 for myself.

I hope someone will post when they ACTUALLY get their order. This has been my first and only Mint order and what an experience it's turned out to be. I'm beginning to think it's yet another demonstration of the incompetence of the current administration. Too bad we don't elect these jokers.

I think more people should cancel their order... then maybe mine won't be backorderd... :)

I guess I'm the exception to the rule. I haven't had any issues with the mint on the orders I've placed with them which amount to about 6 orders annually. I should say no issues until this one, and this hasn't really inconvenienced me in any way. I like the proof eagles and am glad to see them back for this year at least.

That might have been me. : ) And yes, it was speculation based on how many proof ASE could be sold this year if the mint removed the 100 pc household limit and had them available. Mr. Moy has stated that 600,000 of the 2010 proof ASE would be available for sale. The mint also stated they started striking these in mid-September and could produce about 200,000/month. So with 3.5 months of production it looks as if 700,000 will be a rough "ceiling" for this year's ASE proofs. Unless they continue striking them in January. : )

I subscribed for 2 of them at one time. Now it shows that I subscribed for 2 of them 2 seperate times...... I guess they wanna give me four of them.... but one order says "Item no longer available" and the other says "in stock and reserved". Nevermind that they keep delaying the shipping, I just want to know what the heck is going on! Why hasn't this problem been fixed? They have had plenty of time to get it right....... It's not just embarrassing for the mint now, I'm actually embarrassed.............. Sorry for rant. I'm sure we will appreciate them when and if we get them... : )

    Ditto here

And now their website says this, "Product will be available for shipping 12/06/2010."

Maybe the mint wants this Christmas to be really special and that's why they keep delaying shipping!?! If I do get them before Christmas, I'm not gunna open the package till Christmas Eve. Until then, they will be under my tree.............

While keeping with the spirit of the season, what you propose may not be a very good idea. Imagine opening that package on Christmas Eve and finding a big old nasty scratch on the obverse. You've only 7 days to return items to the mint for refund or replacement so I would urge you to check the coins when they arrive.

    "Could" is not official.

I will definately check them as soon as I get them! At this rate though, I will be happy to get them before Christmas!

Moy never stated that 600k 'would be available for sale'. NO official figure for available inventory has been released from the Mint, only speculation depending upon the actual start date of production.

Your second line bolded refers to Moy's statement reported back in July, see below:

Heck, I doubt they will reach the 600,000 mark.... They are probably still trying to figure out how to edge letter a 3 inch diameter 5 oz pancake on the ATB series..... Wonder how much crap like that slows down other series, like the ASE Proofs, if at all? Even if the coins are minted at different mints, their resources are only so much.....

Got on today and my order status was changed to backordered and exptected to ship 12/06/10.
Before it said in stock or something like that.
    Disappointment to say the least.

My early Friday evening order is still showing backorder/expected shipping date of 12/6. Not surprising to me at all. For those of you that had your orders changed from "in stock and reserved"
to "back ordered/12-6", at what time did your order go through on "opening day"?
