The US Mint is an absolute joke. Would a new website hurt? You know, it's not the 90s anymore. I still feel that there's collusion going on with the Mint and these TV goons. How else do these HSN guys get everything so early and certified so quickly? It's pretty obvious if you ask me. Things like this almost make me want to cancel my order just out of spite.
Heh. That two roll set is still overpriced at one cent. EDIT: Sorry for not merging posts. I didn't mean to double post of sorts...
No email yet. My order history on the US Mint's website states cancelled. So much for my subscription for 4 ASEs. Bruce
Can the mint really enforce the sale if they've already (even if it is mistakenly) stated it's canceled? Seems like there could be some legal problems.
Very disappointing isn't it? But that's the mint for you. Just about any third party can provide better service, but then you'll be paying ridiculous premiums on top of the already ridiculous mint premiums.
I got the e-mail just now...... if they know its a mistake you think they could have stopped sending false e-mails by now.......?????????????
BTW, today's a Federal holiday, shouldn't they all be out of the office...? Maybe a good time to throw a wrench in the works when few staffers are looking...
You're right! Tried to go to the bank today.......CLOSED! I can't wait to get the whole story on this blunder...... IF we ever get the truth........
This is certainly big enough to have the numismatic publications and blogs poking around to shed some light on it... I just hope it's not explained in a way to cover the Mint's incompetence as was that 'odd' contrail over LA earlier this week.
You're right, I forgot about it being a holiday. Maybe the mint is really being run by their computer. BTW, thanks for the remind about it being veterans day. Applebees is offering free meals for vets today. I gotta get ready and go get mine!
I got the same email about them being sold out and called the mint. A nice lady named Maggie informed me of a "glitch" in the system. She told me to call back on Monday afternoon as the "glitch" should be fixed by then.
FYI- I was told that subscription orders are queued by the date on the account not the date that the subscription was placed. I was checking because I wanted to lower the quantity of a subscription and was worried that it would effect my place in the queue. That said, I may get a different answer if I ask the Mint again!
