I got an e-mail on Nov. 8 stating that my 2 2010 ASE proofs were on backorder. After reading this thread I checked the order status on teh mint's website and it states that my orders have been cancelled as well. Lets hope this truly is a glitch in the system. I was looking forward to these beauties!

I wonder with the rising silver prices, the mint doesn't want to lock in any sale until things settle down?

I hope this is a glitch... I received the canceled msg today also.

I've just received the email as others have. We all know how the boards light up when an announcement or info about these particular coins (amongst other anticipated Mint products) are mentioned in the press. I hope this 'glitch' wasn't intentional to drive sales of these coins if subscription orders have been lighter than anticipated by the Mint and in approach to their online availability after next week when expected to go on sale. If market prices of silver and the Mint's market up price of these coins are scaring away subscribers of these coins after all the collector banter and balking over not having Proof collectibles available last year, I wonder if this little 'glitch' wasn't engineered to ramp up buyers emotions. That would certainly be a weak sales tactic if buyers were made to think a possible scarcity/limited availability were in play even when no household limits nor mintage limits have been officially stated.

My order is a subscription. It's been there... for months.
I just rec'd the email everyone is referring to (11:40 am):

I got the same email messages for two of my three orders. Strange thing is that they are on the two oldest subscriptions. One has been in place for about 10 years and the other since last year. The one I just put in a few months ago didn't receive a cancelation email, although the order is showing as cancelled on the Mint site. I agree that if this is a sales tactic then they are getting pretty low. If it is true, then I want to be assured that no large order placed after mine got placed while mine got cancelled. I would hate to think they are filling recently placed orders for 100 when they are cancelling collector orders for 2 or 3. I bet we get the shaft at this point. Flippers will have them starting at $200 each if any of you collectors want them.

Was just thinking how this will affect the ebay pre-sales for these. Looks like prices on auctions getting ready to close have jumped $15 to $20. I see several in the $75 -$80 range now. Looks like this will drive up the price now anyway

Yup, I just got the same thing... Like many of you, I've had my subscriptions in for years...

I'm seriously getting tired of the Mints service or lack of....

I just called the Mint and they told me to disregard the email that they were not sold out there is a problem with the system. I had placed two subscriptions last year one for one and the other for four, I thought if they were putting a limit on them I wanted at least one coin.

When I checked my mint order yesterday, they had moved the ship date back to the 25th, but it shows a locked price of 45$ and change

A few days ago I got an e-mail saying it was on backorder. As of today my subscription order is cancelled also. However, on the catalog product page it still lists them as going on sale Nov. 19 at noon.

Wow.. I logged on my Ebay this morning... and I am rich! :) Thank you U.S. Mint for your incompetence!

I too called the MInt and it is an error, they are not sold out and she told me they will not even be back ordered!
