Bought at the Baltimore show: My first colonial note. The only problem is now I'm going to want to get at least one from all 13 colonies...
Very cool note. What an interesting cancellation! Good luck on the colony set. I think it's a great idea.
Nice! worn with lots of character and life but still here and a viable collectible. All the crackled wrinkling gives it a sort of marbled look. :smile
ACK!!!! i never thought of that ACK!!! now somethign else i must buy - i too have a single colonial note
He means on the Massachusetts note, a lot of the S's look like F's. It's the "long S", which was often used in the middle of words (with the "normal" S being used at the end -- notice the S at the end of "Massachusetts"). Wikipedia has plenty of information on it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Long_s
Well, just in time for Veterans Day, I got my very first MPC note, a Series 681 1 Dollar note Graded 65 EPQ by PMG. Actually I just retired from the Air National Guard after some Reserve time, Active duty, and then Air Guard, and I bought this as a token of my time in the ANG. THe front has a pilot, and the reverse has a formation of the Thunderbirds. I remember being sworn in about 5 times when I was going active duty, and the first one was on the flightline in front of the Thunderbirds aircraft and the lead pilot swore us in, so this is a pretty fitting token to the end of that time of my life.
newest i didnt pick up any new notes lately but some new coins tonight i posted pics under one of my other posts of who collects canadian.. thanks guys for the support and answers, im always learning on here
Great pick up Dave!! the Series 681 is my most favorite because it depicts and honors All branches of military services !!
