Anyone know where I can find a URS and a CC for German coins? More specifically Third Reich German coins? Do I need to buy a book? Or is this information readily available online. All I have found is a more crude website that tells you "scarce", "very scarce", and "rare." I found this site a bit rudimentary for my taste. I want to dive more in depth and am falling short. ~Andrew
Ya, they seem to skip right over the third reich era. I will look at it more in depth tonight though.
Yes, "Sammler" (German, "collector") sounds quite European, hehe. Have no idea what URS/CC means, but it is perfectly legal in pretty much all of Europe to collect coins from those years. That sammler.com site does not "skip" the Third Reich coins, but it does not focus on them alone, which some US collectors may find disappointing. Christian
And the database that goossen recommended does not help? This is the German version; people who are solely interested in nazi coins should try this direct link: http://www.sammler.com/muenzdatenbank/auswahl.asp?laden=Dritte-Reich-M%FCnzen Find the type that you want, enter the year (first field) and the mintmark (second field), click on GO. If you do not enter the year/MM data, you will simply get a list of matching eBay auctions; otherwise you'll also see some general info (mintage etc.) about the coin. A database such as numismaster.com (basic info is free, details for registered users only) or a printed catalog such as the Jaeger (in German) provide more detailed info but may be a bit expensive for what you want ...
