I have a small pair of bent-needle nose pliers. Works real good for unrolling the end. And you can re-roll the same wrapper with them too.

21.00 in loose halves spotted a white rimmed half. The teller said it look weird she handed it over and it was a 1982 Washington comm proof with a few light nicks on the fields all the other halves were clad. 2 boxes of halves gave me my best find in over a month of box searchin. One 64.......

Nice find on the 1982 Washington comm. I haven't searched halves in a while but my last few boxes I found nothing.

I will have to look into getting a pair. I reuse most of the wrappers since I do keep all the pre 82 pennies.

Made the rounds to six banks yesterday afternoon. Four had no halves at all. One had $7.50 worth, all clad. At the last, a wandering customer-service guy was apparently trying to play concierge, and insisted on bringing me each teller's stack of halves so I could pick what I wanted! Out of about 20, there were two 40%'ers. He said a lady had come in earlier in the week with a bunch of old change -- I was fuzzy on the details, but it sounded like it was over $100, with much if not all of it halves. He said they have quite a few people come through looking for halves, and someone came in within a couple of hours and bought the entire stash that the woman had deposited. Right place, right time, I suppose -- makes me wish I'd been more aggressive about making the rounds myself when I was unemployed!

I posted last week about a 72 half or something I thought had silver, OK I am kinda new @ searching. But I did find a bicen half that I will try and get a pick looks to be silver!! But on the back there is a what looks like a smear or streak of brass looking or bronzeish looking material. Oh and "NO MINT MARK"
Is this what you guys refer to a missing clad or something?
Would some kind of cleaning solve this mystery or would it hurt a find of some sort?
    Any Idea's

About 3 years ago my first huge find was me walking in to some random bank on the ride home from work. I walked up to the teller and noticed that the slot on the coin tray for halves was full. I asked if I could see a couple and the teller showed me a few that were various dates of franklins, walkers and kennedys. The tray had 30.00 dollars worth of halves!!!!!! The teller who had a thick russian accent said a man had just cashed them in about a half hour ago.....Right time right place.

Just curious as to how many of the 30.00 dollars in halves were silver?

All were 90%ers except 7 that were 40%ers.

Went to my main bank to get the money out for my 2 boxes of halves for tomorrow, and one of the $100 bills is a star note. Any idea what I should do with this?

went to 2 banks today and got $250 in halfs out of them I ended up with 1 53D Franklin, 3 64s
and 15 40%ers been pretty lucky lately.

I don't know if they are worth anything over face but star notes interest me so I would keep it if I had the extra cash. The last two times I have closed at work I saw a $100 star note each time but I didn't have cash on me to get it and it went into the deposit.

Congrats it seems like you have been very lucky lately. I am still waiting for my first Franklin to show up in a roll or from a bank :). So far from coin searching I have found a barber half, walking liberty half, and a 64 Kennedy half but no Franklin.
