I looked at all the 1972 varieties shown at CopperCoin and it most closely resembles the DDO-009 I believe. But to be sure, I think you need to see the actual coin ? And my eyes aren't what they used to be for sure. lol However, I do think that's what it is.

Pretty cool pick up. Miss the time when I could do the yard sales and swap meet flea market thing. I always felt there were a lot of sleepers at those.

    Jello,

I believe you simply have a specimen of the doubled master die. There were two master dies that were doubled and consequently, over 50% of all 1972 from each mint will exhibit this doubling. Your coin shows stronger doubling on the last "T" of TRUST than I normally see(at least from what I can tell from the pictures) but various die stages exhibit the doubling in different degrees.

I sent Ken P a copy too.I will post what he sends me. the toning hides what you can see in hand with a 10x lop.
    but you maybe right.
I thought the same thing about this 1964 &I had 15 Morgan Dollar to grade & just add it to make 16 coins to get the free Anacs box.but still there no Die # listed on this 64.and still have not found one yet?

    Jello-

Nice find on the 64, especially a MS66. Which DDO is it?

You should also send Billy Crawford(CT username is Die Variety News) a link to this. He should be able to confirm it for you.

I wouldn't know about the DDO, but I do think the tiny off-kilter "S" in the 7th picture under the last T in TRUST is mighty interesting.

    Jello,

ROLL TIDE! and cool pick up at a yard sale.

Please dont be offended when I ask this and If I am tell me : How much did you pay for the folder?

Sometimes people just dont know what they have.

The other day I went to the convient store and spent something like 3.24 cent and the cashier gave me a Sac. Dollar!

People dont pay attention anymore! LOL

Yard sales over looked big time today!
most of the time $1.00-$5.00 is what I have payed
But did pay $25.00 for a nice 09-40 set that had a nice 22.

Yes.... I understand this is a few days old now, but I guarantee you that it is a very common example (as I believe was stated above). Huge numbers of the 1972-P have this exact "doubling" and are regularly confused with the valuable DDOs. Sorry.
